Safety first
EN 847 - 1 has been developed and established in cooperation with the leading European tool manufacturers. The European safety standard describes the current state of safety technology for tools. For woodworking machines, the use of tools is mandatory according to the EN 847 - 1 standard. This means that all tools sold in Europe must be developed and manufactured in accordance with this standard.
If a tool is marked with the designation MAN, it can be identified by the fact that this tool was manufactured in accordance with the standard mentioned and approved for manual feed. If a tool is provided with the BG-TEST mark or labelled with manual feed, this tool also fulfils the requirements of EN 847 - 1 and may continue to be used. The designation MEC means the approval only for the mechanical feed. Tools marked with mech. VS or mech. feed may continue to be used only on machines with mechanical feed.
