the right saw blade

Some hints for the right choice and the right application

The tooth projection has a considerable influence on the cutting edge quality on the exit side of the workpiece. This is related to the exit angle of the tooth. The greater the overhang, the smaller the exit angle and the worse the cutting edge quality on the underside of the plate. For a saw blade with a positive rake angle, we recommend a projection of approx. 15 mm. When using main saws in conjunction with scoring saws, the tooth projection of the main saw should be as high as possible in order to extend the tool life of the main saw. The path of the tooth through the workpiece will be shorter.

The thinner the workpiece to be machined, the more teeth the saw blade should have. The thicker the workpiece to be machined, the fewer teeth the saw blade should have.

In order to minimize wear, the highest possible feed rate should be selected at which the cutting edge quality is still good. This is especially true for very abrasive workpieces.

Bei der Stahlblechbearbeitung sollte möglichst eine geringe Schnittgeschwindigkeit eingestellt und der Vorschub möglichst hoch gewählt werden um hohe Standwege zu erreichen.
